Bird of prey photography course
This bird of prey (owls and raptors) photography course offers a unique experience to get up close and photograph this amazing group of birds.
I have teamed up with a highly experienced local falconer to provide you with the opportunity to photograph two subspecies of barn owl, eagle owl, buzzard, harris hawk, peregrine falcon and lanner falcon (species subject to change on the day) both in flight and static. The falconers operating the course have worked with many photography and video projects, including with the BBC, and know exactly how to get you the shots you want!
The course takes place on a large area of rough grassland which is perfect for natural looking shots. You will get the chance to photograph these species flying low over this grassland and then we will also photograph them in set up static natural positions.
As these birds are not wild you are guaranteed to get some fantastic shots whilst also learning about these majestic birds. This course is suitable for everyone but I would highly recommend that if you are a beginner you first take the introduction to photography course.

Testimonials:
“Thank you very much for the bird of prey course this afternoon. An excellent afternoon and fabulous surroundings, I enjoyed it immensely! I highly recommend your courses to others and I hope to see you again soon! Again many thanks for your time and most professional course.” Paul Judkins.
“Just had to send you a huge “THANK YOU” from all members of the Wayland and District Photographic Club who attended yesterday’s workshop. I know I speak for everyone when I say that we had the most fantastic day with you, Mike, Ross and, of course, all the amazing birds of prey. I think the workshop exceeded everyone’s expectations and the technical information you provided enabled everyone to have a much better chance of success. We were impressed that you were able to provide all course members with individual help which was much appreciated.
Hopefully, we will all have learnt from the workshop and will be much better prepared if we get the opportunity to capture birds of prey in the wild.Once again, many thanks for a fantastic day and I have a feeling you may be seeing some of us again in the not too distant future!" Di Jackson, Wayland District Camera Club
